im kinda not in da mood today

i was supposed to go to work at 1pm pa but went at 10am because a workmate forgot that he was supposedly to go at 8am. i had to fill in for him. anyway, though back sched ko nisugot nalng ko because i knew i wud get out earlier.  i took a bath for less than 5 minutes, i believe. went to work by a taxi and because of that, my head was aching. i don't know why, but most of the taxis are making me sick. my head's still aching 'til now. :( but it started yesterday pa jud. siguro, na.trigger lng jud ug maayo sa taxi kanina.  hmmmmm. work was fine, not that typical saturday rush mode though a lot of customers came na around 3:30 pm. grrrr, gisapot ko gamay kay i was told na short daw ko ug php 415 sa ako till fund, pero naa ra diay sa drawer sa ako MOD. nasayop lng. hahay, and believe me it, it wasn't my fault, really. i dont even have a key of drawer two. hmpf! i was able to buy a cool sunglasses, though dli xa branded, ok ra ghapon. (:  i was able to buy a cute pair of dupe flipflops too for only php 291! nag.sale man gud gnina. went home wet kai it was really raining hard na pag.naog na nko sa jeepney.  samot labad ako ulo. :(  one of my MODs called, pa.dutyhon daw ko tom kay one of my workmates couldnt make it tom. unfair! i couldnt go to church napud tom! i havent been to church for more than a month now. and that's sad. makes me feel like im anti-Christ. and besides, backsched napud ko. grrr! i dont know what to do na. things are making me sick. plus i have a deadline to meet pa for my INC in photography. i hate how things are going on right now! 

Starbucks' WIFI...

Okay, okay. I've had enough. If I'm not mistaken, every shift wouldn't be complete without a customer complaining 'bout our wifi. Yesterday, a female customer really pissed me off when she said "Ha? That complicated? Makapunta nga ng Coffee Dream." when I informed her kindly that our wifi isn't free.  One time, when I was having my break, an old man asked me if our wifi was working.  I said yes, but I also informed him that he needed to pay php 100/hr for the card. Obviously, he wasn't happy about it. He said that "lupig mo sa ubang coffee shops kay free ilang wifi,mao ng daghang tao didto". I then replied, "Awww, daghan man gihapong tao dri sir bisan ing.ana among wifi." He answered me back, "Dili jud dai, daghan jud didto."

Stop! Stop! Stop! I'm tired of those complaints 'bout our internet thing. That's why I created this post to explain to you guys why our wifi isn't free.

I've actually asked my managers why customers had to pay for the wifi usage. And so, I'll attempt to make you understand why, though I'm really not an expert when it comes to wifi stuff.  Anyway, they said that if our wifi was free it would mean more customers bringing along their laptops or gadgets which require internet usage.  More customers bringing along their laptops can actually lead to the slowness of the internet because the server cannot accomodate a big number of internet users (I'm really not sure if I'm using the right terms. Sorry.).  This will definitely lead to customer dissatisfaction, which we do not want to happen.  When you purchase the card, it is okay for you not to consume it for 1 hour because you can still use it after for 30 days.  

In Starbucks, one of our major concerns is customer satisfaction.  Once a customer becomes dissatisfied, we become dissatisfied as well.  And also, we would love the idea of customers coming to our store because of our coffee and not because of our wifi. (:

Interpreting poems has always been a struggle for me. No matter how hard I try to force myself to like it, I just simply find no interest in it. But I know it doesn’t have to be like that because by simply doing it could already help me in many ways.

Honestly speaking, the poem “The Look” gave me a long time reading it over and over again. This is to be able to completely understand what it was suppose to mean. Though I am not sure if I have really completely understood the poem, this is how I interpret it anyway…

In the poem, we could see that the writer mentioned three names – Strephon, Robin and Colin. I do not really know if these names are just mere creations or these had really historical meaning or something. I just presume that these men are admirers or suitors of the writer.
The writer started the poem by telling us that Strephon and Robin kissed her in different seasons, particularly in the spring and in the fall, and that it was only Colin who did not kiss her but instead gave a look. She suddenly confesses that the kiss of Strephon was lost in jest. Meaning, it was just done in a playful joking manner. She also admitted that the kiss of Robin was lost in play. What she meant here was that it was just done for fun, not earnestly.
We could observe that even if Colin did not give her a kiss, the kiss in his eyes is the one that haunts her night and day.

What I thought about this poem is that it talks about sincerity in loving. This is what people who are in love lack. It is very easy for us to say “I love you” when we do not even mean it in the first place. It could also be very easy to show a person how we love them. We oftentimes do this by giving a person a hug or even a kiss. But the big question is, is there really sincerity in doing this?

Love could actually be expressed in many ways. It could be through the words that come out of our mouth or through the actions that we show. I could even remember a quote saying that “Works, not words, are the proof of love.” Probably, the writer associates this with “Actions speak louder than words.” True it may seem, we could express by using non-verbal communication. One type of non-verbal communication is the eye behavior. The way we look a person could actually mean something.

One of the things that I have learned during our retreat was that we could actually show love by just looking at a person. Now I know what the poem was really trying to tell. That Colin’s love was the most sincere among the others basing on how the writer said it. And that he also had respect for the lady because he did give a kiss just for the sake of giving it unlike the other guys.
We should always remember that we do not really need to do such big things just to impress a person because the person that we are trying to communicate could just get it through the way we look.
